Monuments in Zarautz
Zarautz was founded in 1237 as a villa or borough, although recent archaeological research has revealed that the original settlement probably dates from the 9th century. With 1,200 years of history, it is hardly surprising that Zarautz has a wealth of historic buildings and monuments that are all well worth visiting.
The Historic Monument Route takes you on an enjoyable trip back in time and tells you all about the history of Zarautz through its old buildings.
